I think Wikipedia is wrong about the possible Russian etymology of
Shasta. The pronunciation of chistyi ('clean', a masculine adjective)
doesn't really resemble Shasta. Ukrainian shchasta (meaning
"happiness", schast'ye in Russian) is much closer.
