I once had a semi-mystical experience on Mt. Shasta.
I was descending the mountain the easy and fast way, which is to dig
your heels into the loose, crumbly rock above the tree line (scree)
and sort of ski down.
The only bad thing is the danger of setting free loose larger rocks
and getting hit by one, which is what happened to me this time.
I was lying there seeing stars for several seconds.
