there's so much of that kinda stuff in Pynchon--did he make the
connection or inadvertently pointing to such connections unbeknownst
(don't the buddhists have that whole bit about non-action, wu-wei?) or
just lucky or some sort of communal illusion

is it the redeemer or is it just gas?
