Does Pynchon Produce Only 'Masterworks'?

Lot 49 is the structural equivalent of a coitus interruptus: leading the reader
on, building up pressure, approaching a climax, approaching, almost there... and 
then that final sentence. That, to me, is very inventive indeed, but I could see 
where others might differ.
