FWIW, Proust is my all-time heavyweight champion novelist of the
world. It's just that Pynchon is the most amusing major novelist I'm
aware of. Let's face it, milk doesn't shoot through you nose while
reading Swann's Way but it might while you're reading certain passages
in Gravity's Rainbow.
And, yeah---this is a great place for diversions, misdirections and
brownie recipes. Not to mention candy drills . . .
