Hi first novel "And the Ass Saw the Angel" wasn't worth reading. It
was when he was obsessed with southern gothic stuff. Might have
sounded good as music but it just felt derivative and distanced on the
page. That was 1989 though. He's come a long way musically, so who
knows?
