as an aside in this discussion, Art Kleps's book _Millbrook_
is a lot of fun.  Of all the people in the psychedelic movement who
wrote accounts,
he put in the most Good Stuff.
Leary's High Priest comes close, but mostly because of the illustrations.

Just found my copy of Kleps's 1994 rescension of the book and was
looking at it just now.

I keep meaning to get his Boo Hoo Bible...
