The Dude had no children!  We might think differently of LA's, and therefore
possible the world's, laziest man if he had children, and his irresponsible
ways effected them negatively.  And no, I don't think that Zoyd or any of
the ATD dads, are irresponsible; just differently responsible.

What this whole side journey reminded me of was Pynchon's associations  
with folks involved [more or less in a 6 degrees fashion] with the SDS.
