I had the date retrospectively stamped into memory because the day before I 
along with my London hostess were enquiring at a trendy London club about 
the prospects for that evening when the doorman (or whoever it was) received 
a phone call from someone he afterwards  told  us was Roman Polanski also 
making reservations.
