Well, I guess it's time to evacuate this thread.

For what it's worth, I've got plenty of those lit-crit books you  
cited, along with William Pynchon's "The Meritorious Price of Our  
Redemption," find Dwight Eddins writing style a hard row to hoe vis  
intelligibility, regard Steven C. Weisenburger's "A Gravity's Rainbow  
Companion" as indispensable & really love Beach Boys circa 1965/1966,  
long walks on the beach and quilting with my anarchist sewing circle.
