Yeah—that too, and Lord knows that the Crying of Lot 49 is full of it.

But it's also full of arrows & echos of  LSD & the "CIA". The material  
in Vineland is a bit more explicit about such things as government- 
funded black ops & CointelPro & Rex 84 & what acid does to your head &  
other distractions. & come to think of it, so does Gravity's Rainbow.  
If you follow those bread crumbs instead of those plucked from the  
Joycean use of religious allusions & metaphor you might be paying  
attention to other paranoid systems.

But I do get your point.

Like the Firesign Theater always sez:
