Overrated?

Yeah, when Woody was good, he was very very good.

I thought I'd probably watched 'Manhattan' too many times, burnt it out. But then I bought a widescreen LCD TV and found - like a lot of films - that it was worth watching it all over again. When I was growing up, we didn't know what stuff like 'this little Radcliffe tootsie' meant, but I still always loved that scene.

What's the betting Pynchon enjoys Woody's 'earlier, funny' films?
