Remember the colors purple/violet in AtD?

It can also be interesting to note purple in the framework of spiral
dynamics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiral_Dynamics -- a system used
for categorizing values development in individuals and cultures
researched originally by Clare Graves in the 60's and adapted to a
more Aquarian Age community via Don Beck and Ken Wilber in recent
years.  Just looking at the Wiki page here, I am also struck by how
nearly the "memes" as stages of societal development over time align
with the years assigned to the astrological ages, which is another
little theme that seems to eke into M&D and AtD.
