I think it is in one of Joe Allonby's recent posts, which I cannot find,
where he states---or seconds somebody---that he sees a connection between
The Shadow [in some of Jung's meanings] and the awfulness of the happenings in the story in
"The Courier's Tragedy".................

As if that play was an artistic projection, ala Hamlet, of the horrors of History, or small h history or
religious history of the time, the play feeling full of Inquisitional--or simply Religious---over-the top horrors
of the time, which, of course, was the Religious Belief System that emigrated to America. My addition.

So, Deep thots on The Shadow and what Jung says it does: Project its darkness outward, onto others.....

Anyone, anyone?
