but - skittering out from the notion of "stamps" to the general notion
of specie and ownership...title deeds and bank accounts being
similarly collectible abstractions...and "ownership" of businesses in
the hands of the super-rich a step or more away from useful
proprietorship, just as stamp collections are a step away from the
natural use of mailing stuff  -

 that conflict is something like not being able to serve God & Mammon,
or the battle between love and greed for Scrooge's heart

...or not...
