I've been trying to suppress the urge to disagree
but, well, I sort of like Dr Hilarius.  Not what he did in the war,
obviously, but his repentance and trying to change.

Further: the bridge inward -- why does everybody think that means
toward a solipsistic inner space?  The bridge inward could mean toward
a sanctuary of some sort, and since it's a group project it's bound to
involve interaction.

Finally: my friend's older sister was one of the (lucky) ones who
actually had her psychiatrist prescribe LSD back in the 60s.  She had
a quietness about her and an interesting aura.

I'm not saying that Oed was wrong to reject his offerings of drugs -
.I think that the various experiences she's about to have will
actually change her more than the LSD would have anyway - but perhaps
her automatic rejection and fear of the strange is part of the
syndrome that keeps her in the imaginary tower --- the good trips that
Mucho recounts suggest she might enjoy the acid if she could get jiggy
with it
