IVIV sex

Doc reminds me of guys I knew in 1970, in the Fort Worth-Dallas
Metroplex, who wore hippie curls and smoked good stash and who would,
as one saying had it, "fuck a snake if he could get away with it",
cock-hounds whose objective was to get laid whenever, however, that
was the prime directive, even if it mean first eating pussy for
awhile, and of course some men enjoy it for its own pleasures, too.
I'll leave it to the women to say what might have been happening on
their end. Published in 2009, Pynchon's take on 1970 sexual behavior
seems a rather savage satire, in my view, and I wouldn't be surprised
to learn that he includes himself among the targets of the satire. IF
so he wouldn't be the only man his age who has had a chance to see how
the way that men routinely treated women back in that day, looks crude
when exposed without sentimentality here in '09. If the sex is the
reason male book reviewers like IV -- did somebody say that? -- then
they are either young enough so that they can laugh at Doc and the
rest and not feel they're laughing at themselves, or if they are old
enough and do remember the 60s, they may be among the men who would
laugh and also feel a twinge of guilt.
