That would be Mafia.
Mary Gaitskill's novel Two Women: One Fat One Thin has a characterizaion of
her. One of the damaged women (the fat one) was obsessed by gthe Rand
character.. Don't think she was made to feel superior to the common run or
anything like that. More it was a case of obsession with obsesssion. I can
relate to that, which is no doubt why I loved the book while being neither
fat nor particularly damaged, and alas not obsessed by anything. Wish I
were.
