And the use of question marks? At the end of statements? Especially by
women? This is because on the west coast? Many inflect a sentence so that
it always sounds like a question.

"Anymore" is an adverb meaning "nowadays" or "any longer".  It's use
in IV is, I think, a sort of LA dialect.  Pynchon seems to like to
have his characters speak in a particular local or period dialect.
That's something that will probably not be possible to convey in a
translation.
