not yet, but...

the Mickey case per se is closed.
Shasta's disappearance has been resolved: any mystery remaining
is probably destined to stay mysterious because she isn't forthcoming
The Glen Charlock case is a blind alley as he probably foresaw -
Tariq's interest having vanished with Glen's demise
and his other client, Clancy, obviously just going thru the motions
(or, was really only setting up Boris possibly to save her own hide)
The Coy case is still wide open, though.
things that motivate him ---
nostalgic loyalty, at least, for Shasta;
concern for Hope and Amethyst;
a growing, brotherly concern for Coy (which he invokes with Drano);
an attraction for bigger game;
That and the prospect of some free sex seems enough
to make him keep slogging, doggedly (woof! woof!),
ruthlessly ("I wonder where Ruth is...")
Nick, I mean, Doc, also suffers from a guilt component,
w/r/t Japonica, which surfaces often enough that he's probably
spurred by it in ways not directly connected to her case.
