Penny gets allowed two toilet breaks
in IV. Must drink a lot of coffee.
We all remember some famous toilet trips in Pynchon!!?? And, we remember that P.I. Lew Basnight 'reads' a toilet bowl in Against the Day...to learn what the shit---that is the money---says about the crime.
Money as shit from N.O. Brown's Life Against Death is a lifelong trope in TRPs work, I'd repeat.
But just a Pissy Possibility hint here in Inherent Vice.
