just for grins and giggles, as we say in the Network Department at the
institution
formerly known as the Phone Company (on the monitored lines), let's do
this backwards...
Doc's singin' Happy Trails as Clancy and Aubrey pull out of the
parking lot of Knucklehead Jack's,
on his Harley, "followed...by his coadjutor Thorndyke on an Electra
Glide shovelhead"
coadjutor? - from Dictionary.com:
1. an assistant.
2. an assistant to a bishop or other ecclesiastic.
3. a bishop who assists another bishop, with the right of succession.
Origin:
1400–50; late ME < L, equiv. to co- co- + adjūtor helper (adjū- base
of adjuvāre to help (cf. adjutant ) + -tor -tor )
Like the Harleyite Order in Vineland, these bikers have a religious aspect.
Doc's a bundle of fun: Fly me to the moon to the FBI guys, Happy
Trails to Clancy and Aubrey.
