.  However, since she never shows
up later in the book to find out anything more,
I think that Boris put her up to going to see a detective,
and Bjornsen just gave her Doc's name.

on page 147 we learned that Boris had called her
saying he was scared, so maybe that's all he did
and between Bigfoot's instigating and Doc's detecting,
the connection was made, and in that case she felt
like she might have done enough, or like the chauffeur
in the Chandler book Robin mentioned, maybe she's
a loose end...

after having sprayed the room with air freshener
before he knows she's amenable to the herb
(remember doing that? more nostalgia)
he blurts, "Cootie food" which is like Reef's French
in AtD, rather ignorant.
Somebody had told him it means "Love at first sight"
- this is so much less suave than his Dad's approach
to Elmina mentioned in Chapter 8 that you've got
to wonder if Grandpa gave him a little bit more
of that Midnight Special than was strictly speaking good for him.

OTOH, since she simply says, "Remains to be seen,"
she is a different type of girl.

After Clancy, like she is about to do to Doc about his bogarting, and like
she is about to do to Boris on Doc's Princess phone,
calls him on his staring at her tits, he puts on his company manners
and the conversation proceeds...
