Let's go on on p. 167 and following. Before this let me have a word
about what I've done so far.
I'm sorry to be quite late in my schedule, and to discover new errors
every time I give a look at my previous posts:

- about p. 163-4 I made an error on the French words used in IV,
they're still correct, but the Café Asiatique only exists in my mind,
it's called the Club Asiatique (p. 77, 80, 84 and again p. 168).

- about p. 165-6, I found a song called Rosecrans Blvd. and tried to
give you a link to its spotify location. Well, that link didn't seem
ok, but if you guys use this program, you'll find it. It also came to
my mind that it could be usual to call Rosecrans Ave. Rosecrans
Blvd., even out of this song. But I thought it pretty relevant that
the cover of this LP figures the 5 members of the band aboard a hot-
air balloon (without burners, by the way) and the name of the group
also sounded pynchonian.

A-and, there's more about it: p. 169, Doc is reading in a haircut
magazine "That Five-Point Scissor Cut," which could also recall some
of the ninja techniques DL learned with Inoshiro sensei (cf. VL p.
127, 131, 141, 151-2: Nine Fatal Blows etc., the Vibrating Palm or
Ninja Death Touch, the Needle Finger) and more precisely the "five
finger death punch" used by "the bride" in Kill Bill vol. 2 (but many
earlier kung-fu movies must have used blows with such funny names, we
know QT watches lots of movies).

So that was one more "5"; and the next one is on p.173, about "Real
Japonica [always being] present at some exact point in five-
dimensional space, or chaos would resume its dominion."

So this isn't very straightforward, but I think there's at least
something with the number 5 in this chapter.

Did you find other many occurrences of numbers in IV?

Clement
