Otto,

Country Joe McDonald is still around here in the East Bay. My wife
knows his brother, they've worked together around Berkeley and Oakland.

Country Joe also wrote a short story that was published locally --
maybe in the Sunday magazine of the San Francisco Chronicle? maybe in
the short-lived City magazine? many years ago now -- about a giant
traffic jam on the freeway on the bridge that goes across the San
Francisco Bay from Oakland through Yerba Buena to SF. Or maybe I
hallucinated this. Flying high!
