Can't remember who said it: If you want to effect change in the world,
first do so in yourself.
What is the history of radical change in great nations? No
particularly desirable outcomes I can think of. The American
"Revolution" was a relatively small affair in terms of populations
immediately affected. France? Well, it took a while to evolve into the
state it is today after their revolution. India? Still in flux, and I
can't endorse the caste system, or their environmental stance. China?
anything good come out of that? Well, there's less tribal conflict.
Point is, is I voted for Obama and will again, because I think he's
the best man we've had in office since Carter. I see no one on the
political scene with as much will to do good in the world. Small
changes on the outside is all I ever asked. As someone earlier said, I
did not expect him to change the world, so my feelings aren't hurt. He
is doing better than I had expected, really. Nobel? Well, I'm not on
the committee....
