Page is right. All the critics of Obama from the left, including "leaders"
like Amy Goodman, Noam Chomsky, and Ralph Nader put together haven't done
half as much to actually move the USA towards helping world peace efforts as
Obama and his centrist supporters have. A reduction of American nukes will
eventually lead other countries to be able to reduce theirs.
If Obama's rhetoric isn't worth a damn, than why are the words of
Palestinians and the people who just can't stop marching? Change doesn't
happen from the top down, which is why Obama can't do more, or do as much as
quickly as he appears to want to do. Obama is hampered by unfriendly fire
from both sides, each of which accuse him and the Democrats of embodying all
that they oppose. He must be doing something right!
I ain't marchin' anymore. At least not for time being.

This is a lesson we learned from the 60s and early 70s. The way to effect
real change is to become a member of your City Council, or become a County
Commissioner. Perhaps, the most useful and effective position would be on
your local School Board. It was impossible to topple Nixon by small groups
of the disaffected marching in the streets.
