Doc & Sauncho, a sunny day in the San Pedro Harbor, full of tourists
looking for entrance into the "Yacht Club" and all the social perks
that come when you enter into that class of people. It's some kind of
adult Disneyland and the happy campers in this scene are putting the
tab on plastic:

"It isn't new money exactly," Sauncho suggested, "more like
new debt. Everything they own, including their sailboats, they've
bought on credit cards from institutions in places like South
Dakota that you send away for by filling out the back of a match
	cover."

Anticipating the current credit crunch—more likely overlaying it on
top of the early seventies, marking where it all got started. Love
those "tables made from Varathaned hatch-covers."

Sauncho calls this so-called dining establishment "The Pin," claiming
it's a place for his "special clients and just as soon as Sauncho
says that, Doc recognizes a ship:

"Is that what I think it is?"

Sauncho had a pair of ancient WWII field glasses on a strap
around his neck. He took them off and handed them to Doc.
"Meet the schooner Golden Fang, out of Charlotte Amalie."

	"Where's that?"

	"Virgin Islands."

	"Bermuda Triangle?"

	"CIose enough."

Happens to be a U.S. possession:

Charlotte Amalie is the capital and largest city of the U.S. Virgin
Islands. It is located on the island of Saint Thomas and as of
2004 had an estimated population of 19,000 (the 2000 U.S.
	Census found a population of 18,914). [1]

The city is named after Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel (or
Hesse-Cassel) (1650-1714), queen consort to King Christian V
of Denmark. It is famous as a deep-water harbor that was once
a haven for pirates and is now a famed cruise ship port of call,
with about 1.5 million cruise ship passengers landing there in
2004. Charlotte Amalie has many buildings of historical
importance and is home to the second-oldest synagogue in the
	Western Hemisphere.

Somehow this is reminiscent of the Fangoso Lagoons scene in CoL49.
