again this is referred back to primary experience, raw sensory data
(like the oral sex, like Denis's drugstore concept)

- ok, there may be a slight reference to the way cops are known to say
"watch your head" when you get in the back of
the car while they at the same time push said head into the doorframe
with a degree of force finely calibrated to the severity
of your offense in their eyes -
but I don't *think* BB is doing that here to Doc (so, Doc is getting
off real lightly)

- what the joke, if you will, originally comes from is the image of
the wide-eyed innocent that dope can supposedly make you into.
It's an outgrowth of the cherubic drunk like Crazy Guggenheim and
other lovable intoxicated figures of fun thru the ages..

there are so many points to this...
- can't regain that innocence no matter how stoned you get (one might lament)
- can always still manifest a shred of it by remembering it
- it's a point of reference and humor Square BB and Hip DS both can
relate to, take different stances on, agree to disagree
- there is a state of mind in which you hear things afresh!
- and (in varying degrees for various people) various inebriants do
bring one closer to that state
