Not read that one, no. Read a few things. No need to read really, they
are all around me! I actually know some people on the fringes of
football 'firms' so I know how those things go. Not my scene at all.

Yes, that is a big factor.

Perception is correct in this case.

They are remembered more because they were so horrible. There were
many many other atrocities. The Croats did not always behave
honourably during the conflict, and their president was despicable,
there is a lot of shame there. But they were nowhere near as much to
blame as teh Serbs. The Serbs continue to live in a curious state,
combining denial with open celebration of what they did, worshipping
war criminals and gearing up for more whenever they get the chance. It
could happen again, definitely. That some on 'the Left' in the West
take the Serbian side is one of the biggest follies since Stalin.

Again, yes, that is part of it. Madness, but it's possible to
understand why it's happened.
