A have two copies of the US first edition (plus a couple-three copies
of the British edition, both hardcover and trade paperback), and the
foggy title pages do differ from one another. I wish this were a subtle,
deliberate effect, but honestly I just put it down to sloppy printing.
In the same vein, the text in one of my US copies is pitch black and
razor sharp, whereas the text in the other copy is more blurry and
greyish. Time to refill that printing machine with whatever they fill
it with.
