"Such was the (as it were) Jacobean etiology of Esther's eventual trip to Cuba;
which see"...p. 114, end of Chapter 4

What a curious last line, no? Such a flat explanatory sum-up.......as a wiki
poster is always saying---(Mr. Ware hisself, if I remember rightly)--observes:
the word etiology is usually used about the origins of an illness.....[as P uses
it in GR...'the etiology should be traced" or close...p.144 GR]

And by this Jacobean etiology, --Jacobean meaning revenge play?----
foreshadowing C of L49's Jacobean tragedy----P seems to be saying this Nose Job

head-fracturing rape...is what led Esther to have to go to Cuba for her
abortion......????

Also reminding me, in embryo [sorry], of TRP's focus on revenge not only in C of
L49 but as generational revenge in GR
as well as historical revenge in that novel....[Germany getting even for
reparations, inflation, etc.]

Anyone, anyone?
