I do not think Hitch is a liar no matter how narcissistically full he might
be........but,
whether that's true,
I do not think he could get away with lying about that.......mutual friend (to
him and Pynchon)
Ian McEwan would know it was a lie.....others too perhaps..............
And TRP's relationship to the State, any state, might lead him to make this
call.........
We might all agree he would hate any censorship of any kind, yes?

I'm about 40% through Christopher Hitchens Hitch-22. He relates an
incident when Thomas Pynchon called him out of the blue to discuss the
state censorship of Larry Kramer's "Faggots".
Any thought on the veracity of this?
Despite his championing of rational thought over superstitious
nonsense, I'm starting to find Hitchens to be really fucking full of
himself and in need of an ass-kicking. But that might just be the
American in me.
