I still kinda picture Bigfoot as Tige Andrews (Capt Grier) of Mod Squad fame
that haircut

Pynchon stoned, laying out in front of the TV in b/w excursions to his
pot dealer and the local burger/pizza joint somewhere in LA making
connections
who knows how or what stuck in that tactile brain of his god bless'em
