Some things are real.
Yes to all that. The bond and stock markets have reacted favorably
since two weeks ago possibly in expectation of The Deal and ignored
the continued unemployment news. If I had money to play with, I could
have bought stocks and shorted bonds a while back and be prepared to
unwind when the thing unravels, as it may. The US dollar seems to
have dropped precipitously against the British pound, which is a good
thing unless one wanted to spend dollars on British goods.
Notions of justice and fairness aside, The Deal keeps shit happening
and does have a multiplier effect in creating jobs, although small.
Smaller then placing funds in the hands of folk who will spend it. We
can't get the corporations to stop sitting on their cash hoards and spend.
