If more people were with MoveOn and Bernie Sanders in generally, Obama
could drive better deals. If the Democrats on the Hill could have
gotten their act together, they could have passed a better package
before the election and run on it, but they apparently couldn't and
didn't.
Obama wants stimulus, and the Republicans want huge tax breaks for the
richest 3%. Apparently the latter are only 37% of the deal.
FWIW, Chamberlain gets a bit of a bad rap. When others (Lord Halifax,
IIRC) in the British government wanted to reach a negotiated peace
with the Germans in May, 1940, Chamberlain crucially stuck with
Churchill.

Or is it only Democratic presidents who are powerless? Why is that? It's not a very persuasive argument for voting Democrat. I'm with Bernie Sanders and (finally!) MoveOn.org on this one. I'm guessing I would have preferred Churchill to Chamberlain back in the day.
