But aren't we speaking of an era that witnessed the rise of Blavatsky,
Crowley, Waite & Yeats? Isn't there a flavour of speech that TRP
celebrates in AtD that is born of and reflects the rise of a "whole
new thing" in religion and spirituality? It's the smelly red herring
of "Against the Day," the backstory of "The White Visitation." Hey—it
may only be Rohmer fingering particular notes on his Sax, but it still
works.
