Against the Day, question of y'all; Addendum

  I see it as voices from the collective unconscious, which, since  
the balloonist adventurers in ATD are an expression of that mythic  
realm, they are also more sensitive to.  I recently looked at a web- 
site that featured a great many recent pre 9-11films and TV shows  
that had 9-11 appearing as text   or the twin towers, often in movies  
about terrorism. .  The idea was that it was part of a conspiracy but  
I think it equally credible that it came from the collective  
unconscious. Art has always had an uncanny knack for doing this.

Page 20, hc, end of unmarked chapter two...Penny Black, newly a Captain,
speaks of when the Bindlestiffs were up in the air with the Garcons  
of '71
and "there was a kind of force,,,energy we could feel, directed  
personally at us..." ..."Nobody saw any projectiles", it  
begins..............

Thoughts as to meanings?
