Hello
For all of us who are intrigued with the plunging of various Pynchon
characters into sewers, desert sand boring ships, narrow glacial entries to
the hole in the earth, that sort of thing... let me incline my head toward
yours for a moment.

I just stumbled upon a moderately interesting title, (except that it
doesn't include Pynchon !!) but a very nifty subject heading.
Title: The Life Below the Ground: A Study of the Subterranean in Literature
and History
SU=Voyages to the otherworld in literature. (and there are over 100 books
that are about this subject)

But I picture that such titles slip thru the cracks for a novice searcher.
Nowhere does the bib record for many of these books show the word
"underground" or "inner earth" or "underworld" the babel of terms one might
use to find such a book. So, it's just a FYI for anyone working diligently
on their masters thesis of Inner Earth related stuff, to try out this
subject heading... SU=Voyages to the otherworld in literature

ok,

Jill
