I think it's almost impossible to overestimate how bad this decision is. It 
ranks right up there with Dred Scott and Plessy v. Ferguson. The only hope 
may be for a change in the court to a more liberal makeup, which then 
overturns this ruling. But that's a thin hope; it would have to have before 
many election cycles pass.
