so old Stencil is woolgathering in Bongo-Shaftsbury's apartment.
And there's a lot of literary references.
And he has 8 bags full.

Probably some kind of a scheme to the whole thing; tempting to do some
Lacanian geometry,
thanks, Ian. for the 8 points of the Maltese cross,
wouldn't be too hard to bring in the 8-fold path either, would it?

anarchist, and miracle, juxtaposed in Yusef's woolgathering, page 65
(early incarnation of "anarchist miracle"?)
with the balloon girl, ok she's not actually holding balloons, is she?
but she's floating along the floor ("waxed mirror") somewhat like one
- early prototype for the "balloon boys"? Possessed of an afflatus
buoyant enough
to propel her through the scene at a social and spiritual elevation...
yet she is almost searingly cruel in her dismissal of the
young-girl-daft Ralphie

so we are building V. I guess, Stencil embellishing on the most promising theme
in his father's opus

"When better women are made, Cornell men will make them"?
