Pynchon has never discussed via his fiction any serious science (and
by that I mean to include math) issues or concepts.  He ALLUDES to
them and related to them metaphorically.  I can't think of any fiction
writer who presents in depth discussion of science issues.  That's
just not what fiction is for.
