Well, I don't think that's quite right, but whether it not it is is 
beside the point I was attempting to make.  'Serious' was a poor choice 
of words on my part.  I did not mean that I was surprised I did not find 
an essay on the "foundational crisis" such as a mathematician might 
perhaps write.  'Substantial' or 'extended' would have been better at 
expressing my meaning.
