Amexica

Two recent books I've been reading really prove the point of the bad
shit resulting from drawn lines: Bloodlands by Timothy Snyder--Hitler
& Stalin fighting over Poland, Ukraine, Belarus mostly and currently
Amexica by Ed Villiamy, the war at the borderlands between the US and
Mexico. If you like Charles Bowden check out Amexica--its not as
purple prosey self-indulgent as Bowden, alot more grounded though I
like the both writers immensely. If you want any further evidence of
the moral incompetence and douchebaggery of the Reagan administration
(and every US administration and corporate globalization sleazehounds
following) look no further. Not forgetting the many insanely evil
things being perpetrated on the Mexican people by a corrupt gov't,
compromised law enforcement, ridiculously childish and moronic and
satanic drug barons, and many more. it really beggars belief. but the
book is not just about the drug war, its about the beauty of the place
and its people beyond the terror being inflicted upon it. those are
the people to champion and mourn
