I figure when he went into the Oval Office as president-elect, Bush
simply pointed to the armed guards and said something like, these guys
will still be taking orders from me and Mr Cheney
or not, who knows? Power corrupts. He's still better than the
Republican alternative, down here in Florida where they swept the
midterms the state house is going to meet for a special session to do
stuff like overturn a septic tank inspection law and override some
vetos from the former governor, Charlie Crist, a somewhat moderate
Repub. Then on to school vouchers and immigration and who knows what
deviltry?
wish I could say my own lands were in order...
what we need, I keep thinking, is a coherent Democratic narrative.
I still think that he's done more to guide the runaway train to a
siding than most people give him credit for
