Don't forget the benevolent 'tower-society' (Turmgesellschaft) in
Goethe's novel "Wilhelm Meisters
Lehrjahre"!
And then, of course, there's the major arcanum Tarot card # XVI, "The
Tower", which is - signifying
ego crashing Transformation - in a certain sense the most important
Tarot card of all.
Note that the tower is struck by thunderstorm and lightning: It's
raining men!
