TRTR(1) Eye Goddesses Wearing Dipthongs

I'm currently reading Just Kids by Patti Smith and she and some of the folks she hangs with seem to have some classical and/or intellectual background.  Her dad seemed to enjoy it.  But it seems to fade as pop culture takes over.  In my own life there were only very occasional (rare) bright spots of moderately intelligent discourse.
