Maybe like the Flintstones one could train a small pterodactyl to hold
it and turn the pages with its beak.
If you're clever with wire, you could make an ornate thingie with
filigrees and curls with some awesome copper wire from the hardware
store.  Not too thin a gauge nor too thick.

This is actually a project that I, too, should do...thanks for suggesting it!
