While reading this I recall that Woody Allen film "Bullets Over
Broadway" with that play that the hero was writing "God of Our
Fathers" which in voiceover was inspired by Chekov and Strinberg.

I know "The Seagull" I found hilarious to write parody of:

Ed enters in jodpuhrs and riding boots and stares into starry sky thru window

Translation: I find the staging of these characters in TR very distracting
but still waiting for comedy and characters engaging with other people.

I have never used the word "torrid" ever and I cannot apply it to this
stuff either.
