My copy of Miss Lonelyhearts is an Avon paperback, first printing in 1955--
licensed from New Directions, i guess---with a number of printings following
when it
got upgraded, still a mass market paperback, to The Avon Library edition
of 1964, which is the edition I have and I mention this because I am not
sure what is on the earlier Avon editions but
BUT, on the back cover of this is a snippet of The New York Herald Tribune
rave with these Exact words:
....."Chapter after brilliantly written chapter moves like a rocket in
mid-flight,
neither failing nor falling......."
Dya think? Nah, nah, couldn't be.....................
(There is no rocket in this book, just fyi)
